Mr. Clock

He lies, bleeding, on the floor.
His cogged heart still beating,
Still beating,
Out of time.

Out of time.
He lies to me.
Just lies there, lying.
It's a familiar scene,
Except that I should be crying.

Foolish clock, did you think,
That I would still love
a liar?

You lie, bleeding, on the floor.
Your cogged heart still beating,
Still beating,
Out of time.

Out of time,
Are you not,
My dear Mr. Clock?
The others are chiming.
But you only tick, you don’t talk.

The others are chiming,
And you’re lying here,
dying.

You lie, bleeding, on the floor.
Your cogged heart still beating,
Still beating,
Out of time.

Out of time,
Mr. Clock.
I don’t believe your lie.
You tell me there’s a chance,
Or that it’s hopeless to try.

As long as I look to you,
I'll be believing
a lie.

You lie, bleeding, on the floor.
Your cogged heart still beating,

The false hope,
the excitement,
then disappointment,
over and over…

Well I don’t want you.
I don’t want you,
anymore.

I leave you broken on the floor.
Your cogged heart not beating,
Even dead, you’re still cheating,
Still lying,
Out of time.
