I was taught a lesson, last Friday after the community talent show, through a scare. C rolled his truck in town about 4 blocks from me, while I was sitting in the driveway with K complaining about trivial things in life. My brother and one of my best friends were in that truck too and somehow they all walked away with not so much as a scratch. There were so many worse things that could have happened. They might not have been strapped in... There could have been someone else walking beside them on the sidewalk, the glass might have shattered all over them. We all learned more than one something that night. As for me, I realize now just how trivial my complaints really were and where my focus needs to be. I should remember to be thankful for little things, like the fact that we're all alive and walking.

So now I'm thankful again and I'm going to try not to lose it.
